In less than a month, most peeps who go to PSkool will be packing their supplies for the up and coming festivities. I just can't believe summers about half way over. Death.

What is death?
It is an age old question. The first time I really pondered this question was when I was ten. I remember swing on swings at the park with my friend. It was a cloudy day and can still hear the swing hinges creaking above me and my friend. We were unsynchronized, I heard her hinges creaking before mine. I still remember turning to her and asking "Where do we go when we die?" She responded with "Heaven." That was in the distant past, but I still can recall the feeling of uneasiness and loneliness. It chills me. But now that I look at it, death has always been respected. From early man when they buried their clan members and put flowers where they were laid to rest. Still today, it is unclear what happens after death. Do we live on? Do we become part of Earth? Is there a heaven or a hell? Or is all the concept of death only human and it is irrational. And the fact that, there is only one way to enter this world and so many ways to leave it. However, the most chilling idea from the Buddhist perspective is: when one passes on their face and physical company appears to only be a dream. And as the time grows between the death and the present, they fade away like a hazy, forgettable dream, but their soul and being will forever be in the hearts and souls of the ones they touched.

This sunday to monday (today), our class had our annual retreat. From the very start... we knew retreat was going to be Uber awsome. When Amadaeus ate shit and was soaked in mud. OMG. We knew that the overnighter would be classic. So many belly laughs and fun games. Truely, retreat was a treat.

Okay today we had our annual interim... Talk about interesting! We did CSI Simulations and stuff. Honestly, it was boring but entertaining. There's this one super hyper kid that is in sixth grade... called Crack Kid [we can't reveal his real name]. Seriously, you don't know crack kid until you see this miracle child. LOL. He addicted to sugar. He ate a who bag of instant hot chocolate powder plain and ate all my fricken STAR BURST. FUN! Because it was so boring today, I'm bringing my WII with Guitar Hero III to play.

I can't believe its nearly time for Interim. Its tomorrow. Emmam and I are in the same group. Well if you don't know what interim is... its like theme week at our school. But only for a Thursday and a Friday in April. So there are activities like camping, going to the beach, hiking and even YouTubing! Students pick their activities and then are placed in groups by their choices. For Interim 2008 Emmam and JoshI have the most... hmmmmmm... how should I put this "unique" interim. We'll fill you all in later! But have a good interim and a wonderful Thursday and Friday!

I sit beneath a graceful Pomegranate tree.
I see its branches reaching toward the golden heavens.
The large white sun is setting in the hazy sky.

A foot away, I reach for a Pomegranate.
As I break it open, it bleeds
And from with in my

A shear pain.

The pomegranate falls from my hand,
As though escaping by bitter grasp.
I see the red juice, vile, like blood stains
On my hands,
My white clothes.

I only see blotches of red scattered upon a black background.

As my final breath exhales, the sun sets beyond the horizon.
Then the pomegranate trees' roots
Collect my limb body and comsumes me

We're Back On Track

Sorry readers for the lack of new posts, but EmmaM and JoshI have been quite busy lately.

Okay today's post was supposed to posted on March 31, yesterday, but I got to computer late... ETC. I basically will discuss three things; two of which are commentaries and the third is a tag on Emma's composition on English 9 last school year.

My first commentary is on the recent ice shelf collapse in Antarctica. The latest collapse of the 160 square mile Wilkins Ice Shelf provides into what global warming will bring. In the past 50 years western Antarctica has seen and increase of temperatures of .9F or .5C; the largest temperature increase any where on the globe. In recent studies the increase temperature provides solid evidence that the ecosystems at the polar ice caps are at extreme risk. The very basis of life in the Arctic regions depend heavily on krill. However, krill has had a population decrease. In addition, the warming waters are allowing the King Crabs in Antarctica to adjust their migratory patterns. Now the giant crabs are venturing into habitats that for tens of thousands of years have evolved into creatures without defense because of the lack of predators. The frigged ecosystems of the polar regions are changing rapidly. Scientist claim that the rapid changes foreshadow what global warming will bring to other parts of the world.

On a more positive note, Al Gore, former Vice President of the United States of America on Monday March 31 officially launched a $300 million campaign to reduce US Carbon emissions. The Alliance for Climate Protection will provide information on how to reduce your carbon footprint and suggest ways to become involved in your community's conservation efforts. The Alliance will encourage elected officials to support their people's voice on global advocacy.

Finally, the third segment. Emma had mentioned about English 9 or freshmen english on a previous post. I would like the readers to think about an aspect/topic discussed: an acute perception. After being in that class, even though I was just introduced to the idea, my eyes were opened. Not only opened to see the beauty the world has to offer, but the fallen angels that lurk around. Now, I see beyond the superficial and "enjoyment" that literary pieces, songs, art, movies, and other "vaudeville" entertainment; but the sources of entertainment with complexity and its full colors. Yet, why is it that this shallow understanding and complex concept of analyzing is only, if not limited to entertainment. The question is "But How?" How can I use this media driven perception to see daily things like people and real life?

If these are letters, they will have to be misread.
Nothing that I write, I say, I think is truly understood and I have come to live with that pessimistic notion.
I blame the wind.
I blame the air.
I blame that math teacher I had in 4th grade.
All i know is that my neurotic insanity can't be blamed on me alone.

"From the outside looking in" is a statement that defines the confines of my helpless mind.
I describe things I shouldn't describe and create things that should've never been created.
I blame the wind.

I blame that math teacher I had in 5th grade.
But I sit content with my blames and lack of tact, I attempt to explain the relative terms such as "insanity," "happiness" and "normality."

I was raised with strong values of new cars and diamond earrings. Finacial and materialistic success was the key to my largest dreams and asperations.
But the truth of the matter is,
my true terrestrial being is somewhere lying on a beach, homeless, with nothing more than the wind, the air and the memories of those math teachers I had in 4th and 5th grade.

New Source of Inspiration

Recently I watched the award winning tale of a 23-year-old college graduate, Christopher McCandless' journey of self-discovery, self-awareness, and self-destruction, the story Into The Wild.
At the beginning of the film this quote given by Lord Byron appears reading:
"There is pleasure in the pathless woods,There is rapture on the lonely shore,There is society where none intrudes,By the deep sea and the music in its roar;I love not man the less, but Nature more."
When I read this quote, something spoke to me.
In the over-used words of the masses effected by a bout of deep truth, "it touched me."
It gave me a new outlook on what nature means to me.

This was just the beginning of an almost over-inspirational account of tragedy.

I believe that Christopher McCandless' adventure is one that was fueled by a decade of resentment, longing, repression, and utter determination.

A determination to find truth in a world of lies.
His story racked my brain of it's true dreams and aspirations, and opened the door to my true desires.

We are all held by a materialistic longing to be "happy."
We have been told that to achieve true "happiness" we must work and strive for bigger and better "things."
The root of all evil in this instance are those material "things."
What if we were to abandon such superficial trophies?
What would society become?
What would humanity become?
All questions that we posses the answers to.

This excavation of truth is one that has always haunted my inner conscious.
I guess the truth of the matter is brought back to Mr. Kiyoshi Najita, AKA Mr. Naj.

He was the first man to guide me out of the box of the terrestrial thoughts and think about the larger un-object-oriented sight of the world and beyond. He begged the questions of what it means to be "happy" and "normal," conformity versus non-conformity.
The world widened in that small claustrophobic classroom.
My brain expanded in the hands of my peers and the high school English teacher I would never forget.
From those 7th period classes, lyrics started to mean more, melodic spine-chilling wind begun to demand more from me than goose bumps. Everything changed.

The rude awakening that was responsible for the extremist, of McCandeless' alias, Alexander Supertramp, is what I believe my small sliver of brain and soul power is made of.

All of these innate thoughts have followed me and I keep hold of them as my straggling mind keeps bay to the rancid society of today.

This is only one entry of many strives for truth to come I hope.
I think it's important to open the door to the outside realm that is truth. That is us. That is me.

A Lighter Topic!

Hey everyone,

Today I have some cool news. My news today is EXTREMELY off-topic, but hopefully, it will provide a contrast to the global warming/climate crisis articles we have been posting. I am an extremely avid Nintendo fan. Like I always have had a GameBoy. I had a black GameCube, which I called "the LUNCH BOX". I also have had Nintendo DS's. [I still have all of these Nintendo Products] Besides that, Emma and I LOVE, like LOVE... Nos Gusta... GUITAR HERO III: LEGENDS OF ROCK. [Nerdy, I know, but its super, ultra, mega fun. Try it one day! = ) ] Anyways, I went to the only mall in our area, which is about and hour and a half away on monday. There I went into the GameStop; which I call the "Nerdfest Store," but I'm one of those "nerds"; because I do go to GameStop often. So as I walk past "Nerdfest Store" to PacSun, I see in the store, behind the large glass panels... GUITAR HERO: AEROSMITH. OMFG. Like... I don't know what to say. I am absolutely pumped for this uber game of this uber franchise. Also, in April Guitar Hero will make its debut on the Nintendo DS, check our "Rock Band: On Tour," which will include songs from OkGO and No Doubt. On top of that... I recently discovered that Aerosmith remade a Beatle's song... "Come Together" and "Come Together" was in "Across the Universe" [which by the way is the best movie out there] ... He got Monkey Finger, He shoot CoCo Cola...

Recently, the music games have gained alot of popularity and with the release of Rock Band has that craze only grown. However, because I am a loyal and devout fan of Nintendo, the WII has not seen a release yet. Until Monday March 24. The developers of Rock Band have finally released an offical launch date for Rock Band WII. So, peeps, readers, dudes, fanboys, ASIANS, band geeks, video gamers, and awesome people like Emma and I mark your calendars........ JUNE 22 2008 pick up our WII version of Rock Band. Activism on Global Warming

I wrote this letter to the editor of the National Geographic Magazine in response to the generally negative view and lack of encouragement to its readers to take on global warming/climate crisis. The objective of my response was to shed some light on its readers on how the issues in the magazine can be solved. In addition, I forwarded this email to CNN.com as a potential article topic.

October 31 2007.
Dear Editor of National Geographic Magazine,
I am [] years old and am always the first in my family to open your magazines when we receive them in the mail. I have always enjoyed reading and looking at the pictures in the magazines. But until recently, I have observed the negativity in the magazines concerning many topics. For example, the magazine's coverage on Global Warming and the climate crisis. I strongly support your constant advocacy for protection of our beloved earth. However, the articles tend to highlight how the earth is dieing and suffering. And in my opinion, 2007 has been an extremely important year for our climate crisis. Everyone around us knows how global warming works, its effects on the planet, the animals and most importantly us. But what they don't know is how they can slow the lethal process down. If I were the editor of National Geographic Magazine, I would create a mini series in a chain of issues that describe simple ways to conserve energy and daily carbon emissions. Possibly have a magazine where it introduces how you, as in the readers, can help the environment. Also, highlight people from around the world who are saving the planet everyday. The writers for National Geographic have the posses the power to shed a new inspiring light on their readers about the climate crisis. I believe that with encouragement and ideas, on a global scale people can change their ways of living to save our beloved home, earth.

I wish I still believed that the world was perfect.

I wish i could rewind back to a place in my life when I didn't have the faintest clue what war or global warming truly was.

To a time where i was content with just sitting in my room with barbie and ken.

To a time where every flower was a fairy and ever stream a magical river.

I was ignorant, stupid, simple, everything I want to avoid but everything I would give anything to posess.

That time in my life was full of imagination and utter enjoyment.

When i was happy I was purely happy.

When I was dreaming it wasn't about Doom's Day or the utter disappointment in my last math grade it was about things I would never accomplish but was okay with just dreaming.

It's a place i miss, a time i wish would flood back and save me from the self-destruction that has become of this doll-crazed freeze-tag queen.

Today's post will feature my Threads... or style. I would say my style is emo/skater but preppy with some So Cal style. Yes, it is a remixed style. However, our location, that shall remain secret, is so isolated that keeping up with trends in not only fashion but other areas are deeply influenced by the internet. On the other hand, the need for new threads is an excuse for frequent travel. In addition, most times our clothes has to be order on the internet [shipping sucks].

Favorite Brands:

Volcom Stone
Levi's Strauss

Hollister Co

Jackets: Militarized style. Faux Fur is cool. No blazers, though. Hoodies rock too.

Tops: Collared shirts and polos from American Eagle, Hollister. Even militarized tops, especially thoses with shoulder epaulets from H&M or Urban Outfitters. Tee's that are basic are in.

Bottoms: Rock the slim fit jeans. I wear Levi's 5lls or 510s [men's skinny fit] avalible at PacSun or Urban Outfitters. For shorts: go with Volcom like the Chino's, even pattern shorts from Quiksilver or other surf brands are a go.

Kicks: I don't dig creedlers or slip-ons... whatever they're called. I usually wear skate shoes; although I haven't bought a new pair in a while. I'm looking into these awesome shoes from Supra, Supra Muska Skytop Black Dot. Oh yeah, summer's soon so slippers are important.

Quiksilver leather slippers from PacSun or Macy's go well. On a final note, this might deny my style as "punky," I cannot stand Converse shoes. I don't like the way the feel and look, but the are an original fashion trend these days.

Accessories:

Jewelry: Leather bracelets, beads, puka shells go with the style and rings

Cell Phones: Today, the trend is to get a phone that is texter friendly. By texter friendly I mean, QWERTY keypad. Also most teens are getting BlackBerry's and iPhones. I have the Voyager and its a great Multimedia phone, with a large QWERTY keypad.

Sunglasses: Urban Outfitters rocks cheap in style sunglasses. Kanye West shades and Wayfarers are in style now. Also, I have a few pairs of Oakley's, they're great for going to the beach etc.

Hats: I wear those military caps and when I wear them people call me "Fidel Castro." They rock look them up.

Of couse standard on a teen: iPod

to be prepared for the consequences of yester-year.

We need to be conscious

for all those generations before us who weren't.

We need to think out that next step

before we fall too much more into oblivion.

We need to rewind

to a state of mind

that didn't have the word killing in it's vocabulary.

We need to come together,

as a nation,

as a generation,

as a group of no-good hoodlums who were thought to be

nothing more then an army or sex-crazed fat kids.

We need to come together,

for the lives of yesterday,

for the lives of today,

and for the lives to come.

This is all a burden,

a burden we should hold with pride

and determination.

Determination to do better than our mother's and father's

could have ever dreamed of.

GLOBAL WARMING

Al Gore, a true hero, claims that global warming is a moral issue. I totally agree. It is an issue that will impact and forever change the human race. Now that I look at the people around me, I see an attitude toward global warming and "Go Green"; it is change. People are recycling , the next president wants to take care of the crisis, people are driving hybrids, car companies are making new hybrids, petroleum's chemical composition is changing like ethanol and biofuels and alternative energy sources are being sought after. The only question is: how much is changing? I believe our change is fixing the crisis. The human race is finally becoming aware of the environment and its fragility. My case closes with the thought that Earth is the last and only home left for humanity; humans have the ability to forever change its fate. In order to spare the life of our fragile and sick Earth is to change ourselves... We need to become caregivers of our planet and have faith that we can and will change the climate crisis.

Thief in Italy has got the right idea...

So there's this insane thief in Italy who is now being hunted by Italy Police in connection with countless robberies with the only moment remembered by the people and clerks being "Look into my eyes."

Totally crazy huh?

But I mean he's not doing any physical harm just financial.

They call him the 'Hypnotist' (original huh?).

They actually have footage of the man, and they still haven't caught him.

Just a bit of information about some of the crazy crimes that happen outside of the U.S. of A.

In other news, reaching a smaller demographic and personal outreach, I have come to the conclusion that we just have more bounce where we are.

Our hair bounces more.

Our bouncy balls bounce higher.

It's really sorta not really, scientifically supported.

But i think it sounds about right.

So ok new subject.

College.

That big scary secondary schooling where the Greeks reign supreme and the beer stands are infinite.

I guess it's one of those subjects that make me freak.

I'm not exactly afraid but overwhelmed by the thought of what's to come.

At our oh-so-small school, college is always the main goal,

"Do this to help raise your SAT scores"

"It would help if you took more AP classes and participated in more extracurriculars."

"That's gonna look shitty on my transcript."

Everything up until now has seemed to be building up to the pedestool that college has been put upon.

But at this moment in time, it seems like an endless hopeless climb towards $50,000 tuition and a crazy roommate.

People also tell us that you're paying for the experience.

Well if that's true then what are we truly going for you could pay for an experience anywhere whether it be in a trip to South Africa or a cruise to the Bahamas.

Everything's an experience.

Don't get me wrong i believe college in a great thing and I aspire to attend one in 2 years, but i do believe also that college is built up to be much more then it truely is.

I also think that it is built up that way to scare us, just for the hell of it.

But what do I know, I don't have a college degree.

Emma again, I'm aware it's only been a few minutes since the last blog was posted but I think I just wanted to i guess explain some things about Josh and I.

It's true we ALWAYS have a cruel inside joke.

I think we have too many to keep track of.

Always got a new scheme too.

More recent, would have to be our plans for decking out our gorgeous selves in detective wear. A long story but utterly genius.

Another is a class fundraiser featuring Guitar Hero III, Teachers and baked goods.

All in all I think that we're pretty bitchin.

Hey everyone it's Emma.

Just wanted to second Josh in that oh-so accurate analysis of our micro-sized school.

I mean it's a good school just extremely small!

I think that I'm gonna start off on the new topic ( hope you didn't mind that Josh).

Recently, Josh showed me the new 30 Second to Mars "A Beautiful Lie."

So let me just say this now, personally I found this video to be beautifully made and also to a have deep rooted cause behind it.

"A Beautiful Lie" Underscores Global Climate Crisis; 30 Seconds To Mars teams with N. R. D. C. & Bonneville Environmental Foundation To Offset Impact of Filming. It is the first video shot in Greenland 200 miles north of the Arctic circle.

The video opens up with Jared Leto, former actor on the popular 90's show, "My So-Called Life," and current lead singer/guitarist of 30 Seconds to Mars. During these first few moments he exposes the cause and introduces the location.

After a long striking of a match, a Greenland native is shown telling the viewer of the dire distress and negative impact global warming is threatening to do to his lifestyle, his people, his culture.

It sends out a message of pure consciousness, awareness and determination through a series of breath-taking shots and unadulterated lyrical sanity.

So i definitely advise our readers to YouTube, google, or whatever that music video ASAP.

Hey readers,

It's me Josh and this is my first posting on our blog. So from Emma, you probably know a little about me. So anyway, Emma and I go to this super small school that has, seriously, 300 students in the middle and highschool. Our location will remain a secret, but I can tell you that we live in K-Town and like our school its uber small. Enough of that personal info... On this blog Emma and I will try to update as much as possible. We will post and discuss topics that address teenage life, current events, trends, art, music and ourselves. Hope you enjoy.

Yeah so we just watched the 6th period english 10 class's performance of A Midsummers Night's Dream and we effin PWNED them!

We're not trying to be mean or anything we just know we totally and utterly PWNED them.

It's just common fact.

Sorry we first period classmates own you guys.

We love you.

So no hard feelings okay, we just owned you.

So now we're sitting in 6th period Algebra II/Trig.

UGH BORING!

But we got our homie WYNTON.

He'd hella cool.

And we just took a picture of him, which we will put on later when he is not right behind us (yeah you know you really want us to Wynton.

And now we're just talking about how we constantly plagiarize...

from the dictionary.

Yeah, that's a corny joke, but we know you loved it!

But if you think about it almost every word in the english language is in the dictionary and we don't reference it so in some level it is plagiarism.

and we're done talking about that.

Oh, we've come to the conclusions that we want to be blog superheroes.

Yes, it's really Josh and Emma's first blog!!!

We're sitting in second period chemistry, trying to make it through the last day before spring break, only 5 hours and 10 minutes left of the day.

Emma: I just totally bombed my chem test, and I'm sure to be making up homework all break...sucks hard.

Josh: HAHA... yeah just sitting with Emma my pal. We just performed two scenes from A Midsummers Night's Dream. It was so much fun and nerve wrecking.

Emma: Yeah this blog is probably gonna be hella retarded but you're the cool people reading it and we have no idea how to blog, so yeah haha.

So, both sophomores in a high school across the universe. Far, far, FAR away from "real" civilization. No really we just don't wanna reveal our location/last names/etc. etc..

So yeah.
